The telecom industry will be challenged in the coming year as operators learn to adapt to the rapidly changing mobile landscape. 2012 was the year of mobile - big brands and Internet companies have just started to realize the potential impact that mobile communications can have on their engagement with consumers. I expect the mobile trend will continue in 2013, with SMS being the most rapidly changing application.
